How to have a clearer mind and get more done
Hey friends, and welcome back to the Alex Makes VR podcast. In today's episode, I am sidestepping away from VR and I want to talk about something that I think we're all suffering from a little bit and that is being on our phones too much.
If you have been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that I love to kind of change up occasionally and talk about mindset, self development, and business mindset, life in general, big picture thinking. One thing that has been really painfully obvious to me over the last couple of months, is that I'm spending far too much time on my phone and, look, I'm not going to be one of those people that demonises technology, because technology is phenomenal. The fact that we have gone through this pandemic, and we have still been able to live relatively normal lives in terms of being able to connect with friends and family, and continue our work over the internet. Technology is awesome. As someone that works in the technology industry, I'm not going to sit here and say that technology is a bad thing. However, if you're anything like me, you will notice a direct correlation between the amount of time you spend on your phone, and the deterioration of your mental health. I find when I spend too much time on my phone, I generally I'm more anxious, my brain feels scattered, I feel on edge, I feel like at any moment I am expecting wanting or just kind of like needing like some kind of notification, some kind of dopamine rush.
